Even if you don’t know actual self-defense movements, you can still manage to get away if you know where to strike. The prime target areas that will cause pain are the eyes, nose, throat, chest, knees, and groin.

- Rotate your arm to the side of the attacker’s thumb.

The way you react will vary depending on the position you’re in.
- If the attacker has both arms up, strike the armpits.
- If your arm is low, attack the neck or jaw.
- If you’re pinned and cannot use your hands, strike with your head into their nose.
Hammer strike technique
Depending on your range of motion, a hammer strike could be an excellent solution to get out of harm’s way.
- Bring your palm forward and flex your wrist aiming for the nose or underneath the attacker’s chin.
- Go in for another strike with your other hand making your attacker lose balance.
How to get out of a pinned position to the floor
