Le’bet Newton is by far one of the most Ramadan mosalsalat stirring up emotions, controversy, and reactions by the Egyptian audience. While the scene of Hana -played by the incredible Mona Zaki – giving birth stirred up a lot of emotion, especially on our beloved Rahet Bally Facebook group, the Internet has empathized with Zaki beyond belief.
In fact, Egyptians are so wrapped in Hana’s dilemma and losing her son that there’s an event on Facebook dedicated to traveling to the US to bring back Hana and her son! If that doesn’t prove the audience’s engagement and connection with Zaki’s character in the mosalsal, you’ll be surprised to learn that the event has more than 10,000 people attending! It goes to show what an incredible performance Zaki is doing and how her situation has affected many.
The event title ‘ We’ll bring back Hana and her son from America’ is set for Friday, the 30th of April at 6 pm and currently has 11,807 guests attending.
The details of the event include meeting at Ramses Square in Cairo and moving with a ‘bus’ to the states. The mission states that ‘we’ll get Hana and her son Ibrahim from America.”
This dedication and engagement from the audience highlights Zaki’s amazing talent and how she’s managed to get the audience to empathize and take action towards her case.
However, this is not the only reaction Zaki is getting. In fact, there’s been a controversy about her actions from day 1, her toxic relationship with her husband, and now the morality of allowing herself to be flattered and liked by another man while questionably still in a relationship. After yesterday’s episode, the Internet is focusing on two main events:
Hana’s reaction to Mo’nes’ confession of love in this scene:
Her ‘Rabena yekhalik’ and ‘Thank you’ have stirred up memes and humourous responses in some, and anger in others who believe she has crossed the line in allowing herself to be put in this situation in the first place? While it is a funny reaction, the question must be asked of whether or not she is acting responsibly.
Sara’s response to Mo’nes telling her he’s getting married
This scene shows how a wife always knows what her husband is up to, even if he’s acting like he’s just helping out. As this is one of the biggest fears in Egyptian marriages, it is the talk of the Internet as people turn against Mo’nes and sympathize with Sara. If you were in Sara’s shoes, how would you react? Let us know in the comment how you feel about the events of this episode and what Sara should do?
