TikToker Rima Rahanwanji has been making headlines this year for her hilarious lip sync videos on Tik Tok. Alas, no one is safe from social media’s wrath. The comedian recently removed her veil and that’s when things escalated and got blown out of proportion.
There seemed to be a campaign to unfollow her for the sole reason of making a personal decision that didn’t resonate with them. Most of the mean comments she received were from males who decided to judge her on something that is between her and God. No one else has the right to come in between this sacred relation.

Rima stated that she read comments such as “You looked prettier with your veil on” or “You don’t look pretty without your hijab and you lost your glow” and criticized people who attacked her. Later on, the blogger had to post another video explaining herself to those who misunderstood her comments and claimed that she is mocking her religion as she was making fun of the people who decided to bully her for something that is simply her own choice!
Until when will we continue to interfere in people’s lives? Why can’t we just mind our own business and understand that things like hijab, whether wearing or taking it off, is something between the woman and God only! Who are we to judge? Calling someone ugly is no way to motivate someone to put on a hijab.
Rima and anyone else who decided to remove the veil do not owe anyone an explanation for their decisions. No one should think they have the right to bully or judge her on something that is no one’s business. People need to understand that the Internet is not a free place to judge people and bully them and say whatever comes to your mind.
To put it in simple words: Live and let live! Mind your own business and let people do whatever they want with their own lives. Putting on your hijab or taking it off is for God to judge and God only!
