The economy in Egypt has been hit hard due to the coronavirus pandemic. With many businesses having to close down and laborers having their work reduced due to the curfew being implemented by the government, the financial crisis about to happen is something everyone is worrying about.
While many business owners are asking whether or not they should be paying employees in this time of crisis and some even taking advantage of it before it was necessary and letting people go, or refusing to pay them salaries, an Egyptian fashion studio blows our minds away with their sincerity, act of kindness and humanitarian approach that shows their true colours and pure hearts in these difficult times.
Egyptian fashion design house Kojak Studio has decided to collaborate with fashion sensation Ines Gohar and donate 100% of their profits on select best sellers to Abbassia Fever Hospital to help facilitate any medical help needed to fight Covid-19 and even try to get enough funding to provide much needed ICU hospital beds. This will hopefully allow more room and equipment to be available for those suffering from coronavirus in Egypt.
In times like these, as a nation, we need to stand together and do the best we can to limit the spread of coronavirus as well as try and support the medical workers who are putting their lives in danger in an attempt to save the lives of Egyptians who have tested positive. Sometimes, it’s even as simple as staying home and using social distancing as a method to flatten the curve in order to make the risks that medical workers are taking be worth it.
We hope many more people take similar initiatives and stand together until this global crisis passes. But, if your business is suffering, please remember that you have a responsibility towards your staff and employees at least.
