The engineering field is still widely dominated by males and considered a male industry, especially in the Middle East. However, in this day and age, there are so many female engineers that have proven that women can excel in these fields, too. To help fight the stigma and inspire girls to follow in these incredible women’s footsteps, ‘Lara the Star Engineer’ comes to the rescue.
‘Lara the Star Engineer’
This International Day for Girls in ICT, Google in partnership with Arab Scientific Publishers will be releasing the Arabic version of the children’s book ‘Lara the Star Engineer’. This book is for children aged 5 to 9 and is a great motivation for both genders to explore STE(A)M subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) by featuring real-life engineering leaders from Google.

It’s a perfect initiative to motivate our little girls to become whatever they like and that they can accomplish whatever they set their minds to. With some of the brightest minds in the MENA region, we hope to see many more Lara’s making their dreams come true.
