But with these light fried meals recipes, you’ll be able to eat delicious and scrumptious foods that will help you feel energetic and satisfied all day long.
Here are light fried meals using Afia sunflower oil:
Hash browns
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Afia sunflower oil
- 2 medium-sized potatoes
- One diced medium-sized onion
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Wash and peel the potatoes and shred using a cheese grater.
- Wash the shredded potatoes until the water becomes clean, then drain and tap to dry with a table cloth.
- Add the diced onion to the dried shredded potatoes and add the flour and eggs while stirring.
- Heat 1/4 cup of Afia sunflower oil on medium heat and add the potato mixture when the oil is ready.
- Leave the potatoes to cook until it becomes golden brown and then flip to the other side.
- Leave to cook on each side for 5 mins at least.
- Remove from pan and place on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil before seasoning with salt and pepper.
Peanut butter and banana French toast
Ingredients:
- Afia sunflower oil
- 1 egg
- 1 dash of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
- 1 sliced banana
- 2 slices bread
Directions:
- Whisk the eggs and vanilla together in a small bowl.
- Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on the bread, add the bananas and put the slices of bread on top of each other to make a peanut butter and banana sandwich.
- In a pan, add Afia sunflower oil over medium heat and when the oil is hot, dip the sandwich into the egg mixture and place into the pan.
- Cook until golden brown and flip to the other side.
Corden Bleu
Ingredients:
- Afia sunflower oil
- 1 egg
- Smoked turkey cubes
- Gouda cheese cubes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Paprika
- Oregano
- Breadcrumbs
- Garlic powder
- Chicken breasts
Directions:
- Slice the chicken breast open from the thick side and make sure you don’t cut it in half.
- Stuff the cheese inside the sliced chicken
- In a bowl, add the oregano, and half of the herbs to the breadcrumbs and the other half to the flour in another bowl.
- Add the chicken slices to the flour, then dip in eggs and pat with breadcrumbs to get that crispy thickness.
- Add Afia sunflower oil to a medium heat pan and cook the chicken on each side until golden brown.
Sweet potato chips
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Afia sunflower oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 3 large sweet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon powdered colored pepper
Directions:
- Wash the sweet potatoes and slice them into thin strips.
- Place the sweet potatoes strips in a pot and fill with warm water and cornstarch. Leave for 30 mins.
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees and add a layer of aluminum foil.
- Remove the sweet potato from the water and dry well.
- Cover each strip with Afia sunflower oil, place on a tray, and sprinkle with herbs.
- After 15 mins in the oven, turn each strip on to the other side and leave for another 15 mins.
Cauliflower balls
Ingredients:
- Afia sunflower oil
- 2 cups cauliflower
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup diced parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and spray Afia sunflower oil on a tray.
- Place the cauliflower in warm water for 3-5 minutes until it becomes soft and then cut it into small pieces.
- Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
- Scoop the mixture and round into round balls and add onto the try.
- Place the tray in the oven and cook for 30 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.
Chicken nuggets
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup Afia sunflower oil
- 3 slices of chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumb
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees.
- Slice the chicken breasts into small pieces and place into a small bowl.
- Combine the other ingredients into a bowl and dip the chicken pieces into Afia sunflower oil followed by the breadcrumb mixture.
- Add the chicken pieces to a tray and place into the oven for 20 minutes.
