Most women can’t wait to get pregnant and start a family. In fact, most women have already picked out the names of their unborn children well before they’ve even met their future spouses. Because pregnancy is such a given in our culture once a couple gets married, the option of infertility is often overlooked. However, the rate of infertility is growing and has reached around 15% within couples worldwide. Because of the advancement in medicine and technology, infertility in most cases can be treated. However, the chances of successful treatment can be so much higher when early signs of infertility are spotted. Here are some of the signs of infertility in women that should not be ignored:

Women don’t just miss periods when they’re pregnant but can miss periods due to stress, hormone imbalance, and medical conditions. When a woman misses a period, it suggests that a woman is not ovulating. That’s why if you’ve ever missed a period – even if it was just once – it is best to visit your gynecologist and see how it affects your fertility.

If you suffer from heavy periods or really light periods, this could be a possible sign of infertility. Heavy periods could be a sign or symptom of endometriosis which is a risk factor for infertility in women.
On the other hand, light periods could be a sign that the uterine lining is not getting enough circulation to be able to prepare for an embryo. A light period will prevent the uterine lining from building up the appropriate thickness needed for an embryo to implant.

There’s a point in our lives when we all suffer from acne, especially right before our periods. While acne is normal in many cases, it can also be a sign of hormonal imbalance in women.
When hormones are fluctuating, it can affect a woman’s cycle as well as her ability to ovulate, possibly causing infertility. If you’re suffering from acne, it is always best to seek medical aid to ensure it is not related to a sign of infertility.

The color of your menstrual blood at the beginning of your cycle should usually be bright red and gradually get darker towards the end of the cycle. However, if you find your bleeding to be lighter or darker than usual, it could be a cause for concern and possibly a sign of fertility problems in women.
