Pregnant moms usually love to design a room for their expected babies instead of just buying a crib. Others prefer to wait until the child sleeps independently in a different room to start designing it. Whatever your preference is, here is all you need to know about designing a child’s bedroom. We talked with Ingy Mahdy, interior designer and founder of Furniture Scout, to guide us through choosing designs and suppliers.
Furniture Scout has three golden tips while designing a child’s bedroom:
- Stick to neutral colors especially with walls, furniture, and any other expensive item you will invest in. Include colors in curtains, carpet, and fabrics. For any décor changes, you can easily change those items as opposed to wall and wood colors.
- If you don’t prefer neutrals, choose a color that works for both genders if you want the room to suit a boy and a girl. These colors include yellow, coral, and mint.
- Try wallpapers as they are more versatile in patterns and styles, so they will give the room a different look.
