Egyptian Ramadan TV series are not to be taken lightly. For 30 days, whatever happens in these mosalsalat is all anyone talks about; especially when an element of surprise hits us in the head.
There’s a scene in ‘Welad El Nas’ series that has been trending on social media for a good reason. It’s one of those heart-warming scenes where you find yourself tearing up and will definitely touch a nerve. This Ramadan, the show highlights a parenting lesson we never want to forget: the importance of standing up for our children.
In the series, a schoolboy is accused by his teacher of lying after he tries to fix his grade on a test. He explained that the answers to the rest of the exam were at the back of the page, only to find the teacher accusing him of lying and solving the test at home after the exam.
In the above scene, the father meets with the teacher and has complete faith in his son. He explains that there’s no way his son could have lied because he has absolutely no reason to lie. How many parents are quick to judge and take the adults’ side? How many parents would be hesitant to believe that their child was telling the truth?
When you raise your child with complete transparency, knowing that they will come to you without fear no matter what, you’ll believe that there is no way in the world they would lie to you.
But that’s not just what makes this scene incredible, but the father asks the teacher to apologize to his son as she hurt his pride and feelings by accusing him of lying. This father stood up for his child, showed him how much faith he has in him, how much he respects him, and how he will not accept anyone to judge him or accuse him of any wrongdoings.
The gratitude in the child’s eyes and the way he looks up to his father when he stands up for him show us the importance of putting our children first, having their backs, and believing them. The question is: Would you do the same for your child? Because this is the kind of support they need from a parent, don’t you think?
