Every expecting mother feels clueless when shopping for newborn clothes. That doesn’t only apply to first-time moms, but also moms who’ve been there before – yes, we forget, can you blame us? We usually end up over-buying, and not using a lot of the things we bought, or not buying enough of things we use on a daily basis.
Here’s your checklist when you go shopping for newborn clothes (0-3 months), for winter newborns.
Day-One outfit

This one will always be special.
2- Sobou3 outfit

Via Harrods – Winter Newborn Clothes Checklist
When the newborn is the bride/groom.
3- Onesies [6-9]

Via Zara – Winter Newborn Clothes Checklist
Your baby will literally be wearing these for the first 3-6 months.
4- Sleeveless snap-crotch baby t-shirts [9-12]

Via AliExpress – Winter Newborn Clothes Checklist
Newborn accidents are a lot. Try to get yourself covered with as many of these as possible.
5- Snap-crotch baby t-shirts [6-9]

Via Mothercare – Winter Newborn Clothes Checklist
For extra warmth and cottony touch.
6- Outing outfit [2-3]

For when your little fashionista goes out.
7- Heavy baby-suit [1]

Going out in winter and baby’s sleeping? Put that on, on whatever they’re wearing and just go. They’ll look fabulous anyway.
8- Cotton leggings [4-6]

Via AliExpress – Winter Babies Clothes Checklist
Not sure if thermals are suitable for this age or even available, but cotton leggings are great to warm your baby up, under their onesies in a cold night.
9- Socks [6-9]

Via Zara – Winter Newborn Clothes Checklist
Always back yourself up with that, because these cute little things get lost in the laundry all the time.
10- Bibs [6-9]

Your best friends – Thanks to those your little one’s clothes won’t get ruined, ehem, completely. The cotton ones are softer, hence more suitable for this age.
Note: You might need more or less of the numbers mentioned above, depending on your laundry frequency.
You probably won’t need:
1- Baby shoes: not really practical at this age
2- Heavy jacket: If you have the jumpsuit
3- Baby mittens: most onesies have a mittens option
4- Pullovers and pants: they’re more suitable for older babies
5- Baby hats/headcover: they make the baby’s head very warm, which puts them in jeopardy if they were taken off for any reason in a colder temperature (and personally that scares me big time!).
